The results of the 2010 annual review of the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes (DJSI) were released this afternoon.
Pleasingly, AGL remains a constituent of the DJSI World Index. AGL is one of 13 companies selected to be a component of the DJSI World Index for the Electric Utilities sector, out of an eligible universe of 105 companies. AGL is the only Australian integrated energy company amongst the 13 companies on this list.
AGL also continues to be a part of the DJSI Asia Pacific Index – one of four companies out of an eligible universe of 17. Origin Energy, Tokyo Electric Power Company and CLP Holdings are the other constituents.
18 other Australian companies are included in the DJSI World Index in other sectors.
About the indexes
- The DJSI World comprises the leading companies in terms of sustainability around the world. It captures the top 10% based on long-term economic, environmental and social criteria out of the biggest 2,500 companies worldwide.
- The DJSI Asia Pacific comprises the leading companies in terms of sustainability in Asia Pacific. It captures the top 20% based on long-term economic, environmental and social criteria out of the largest 600 companies in the developed countries in Asia Pacific.
